Our Story

History

Two Eras, One Vision

In 1917, architect Gino Zaccagna built the residence that is now Casa Izel, a jewel of the Stile Liberty movement. More than one hundred years later, JSa Arquitectura, led by Javier Sánchez, restored and expanded it over four years. The result is a unique harmony — the grace of a historic casona beside the strength of a modern creation, each with its own voice, yet perfectly in tune.

History

Rooms Made to Measure

Casa Izel offers 25 unique rooms: nine housed within the restored residence and sixteen in the new wing. Many feature private terraces, offering intimate spaces with views of the city. Each room and bathroom was designed individually, with bespoke details and tailored finishes that make every stay one of a kind. In the new building, interiors lean toward an Art Deco spirit, with soft lighting, natural concrete finishes, and carefully selected materials that create an atmosphere of quiet sophistication.

Gastronomy as a Journey

Beyond its architecture, Casa Izel is home to a bold culinary vision.

On the ground floor, Xuna is led by Michelin-starred chef Jonatán Gómez Luna. Here, contemporary Mexican cuisine reaches new heights, blending ancestral recipes and local ingredients with modern techniques. Every dish is a celebration of Mexico’s flavors, reimagined with artistry and respect.

On the rooftop, Conchita Clamont — named after the casona’s former owner — offers breakfasts, lunches, and dinners with a relaxed yet refined spirit. By evening, it transforms into a Raw Mediterranean Bar, where rising chef Valeria Sánchez delights guests with colorful dishes designed for sharing.
